An Art Hub in Rising Concretes
Kanchan , Thane: Oct 11 2007

Nitai Gaura’s art gallery, the sole art hub in the rapidly developing Thane city is located at the footsteps of Neelkanth Heights on the way to Upvan Lake. The gallery prides in showcasing the best paintings of over 50 artists from all over India, with the number rising steadily. Apart from displaying paintings and artworks, theme exhibitions, demos and workshops for all ages are held at regular intervals here.

Sharmila, the gallerist initiated with the aim to bring awareness and promote art amongst Thaneites. She is a specialised mural painter, too. A graduate from arts stream, she dabbled in a few other professions before she leapt into her present occupation. In the last decade, she has held several exhibitions of her own mural paintings. In addition, she has strived to also provide a platform for the unique artworks of various artists from different parts of the country.

‘The artwork is understood and appreciated by genuine art lovers’ remarks Sharmila, but laments for the response her gallery receives. She regrets for the opportunity she has provided to the Thaneites for free, is not availed by the masses. Though she is happy for the change Thane city is going through. With the rising concrete jungles, the appreciation for art too is rising gradually. A positive sign for her and her team members.
